This is a symbolic shark adoption!

Our $100 Name A Shark Donation allows you to symbolically adopt a uniquely individual, dart tagged shark from our database. This can be either a lemon, blacktip, Atlantic sharpnose, nurse, bonnethead, great hammerhead, tiger, or bull shark (depending on what sharks we have caught during our Florida Keys research trips!)

You will be able to name your shark, and receive a beautiful adoption certificate with your shark's name, measurements, and unique identification tag number. Each certificate is made for your individual shark, and you can choose who it is adopted by if you'd like to give it as a gift.

What is a dart tag?

A dart tag is a small external tag with a unique ID number used by researchers in cooperation with the National Marine Fisheries Service. If the shark is recaptured, the tag's number can be reported and the data is sent back to researchers. Please note, this tag is not a tracking tag, and you will not receive further data or updates about the shark unless it is recaptured.

READY TO ADOPT?

CLICK THE NAME A SHARK DONATION BUTTON BELOW TO BEGIN THE CHECKOUT & FILL IN YOUR SHARK'S NAME AND ADOPTED BY INFO IN THE NOTES SECTION.

** PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO RECEIVE YOUR ADOPTION CERTIFICATE**

Your adopted shark will be a unique shark: No one else in the world will have the same tagged shark as you! Since each certificate is made for an individual shark, it may take some time to put together the information. In an effort to remain environmentally friendly all certificates will be sent as an image file to your email address.

Tax Deductible — The Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation is a USA 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible as appropriate by law.
